How do we choose what to cover?
We’re obsessed with creating well-researched curated lists of the best audio equipment available for any specific application, and we supplement that with useful educational articles and buyers guides.
While our contributors are audiophiles in the true sense of the word, we write and curate our content for the “average buyer.” We’re not trying to create the most technical reviews of high-end equipment only. Our mission is to help the “normal person” pick through the mass of speaker and audio products in the market and make the best possible purchase decision.
So, we pick the products that everyday buyers would consider: good brand name, high-quality, great designs, and value for money products, and we review those. If you think there’s a product we should consider looking at, get in touch with us. We love hearing from you!
How do we work?
While not always possible, we attempt to buy or source the products we review and get them to our reviewers to drool over and put through the tests before giving you our honest opinion about what we believe to be the best in class products.  Our reviews result from many hours spent researching and testing items, interviewing professionals in the audio industry, and crowdsourcing opinions from enthusiasts.Â
How do we make money?
OuterAudio is a reader-supported website. In simple terms, this means that when you buy through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission. That’s our only means of generating revenue on OuterAudio. You will not find advertising or any other form of revenue-generating on the site. We believe allowing manufacturers and companies to purchase advertising on your site creates a dynamic that makes it more difficult to write unbiased (and sometimes the necessary negative) reviews on individual products. Â
The onus is on us to find great products and write reviews that will help you make a purchase decision, and we take that very seriously.
