Until now, the PartyBox Club 120 and Stage 320 have been exclusively available in black. However, JBL recently announced that these party powerhouses will also be sold in white variations, something we haven’t seen in previous PartyBox releases.
Although it’s common to see Bluetooth speakers offered in various colors, this is often limited to smaller speakers like the Go and Clip series. In cases of larger speakers like the PartyBox series, variations in design are often limited to purchases through JBL’s website.
However, that’s not the case with the new PartyBox Club 120 and PartyBox Stage 320, with the white versions being made widely available through retailers worldwide. The PartyBox 120 carries a recommended retail price of $399, while the PartyBox 320 has a retail price tag of $599.
Consumers will even find these white models available on Amazon:
How The Colors Have Changed
So, just how white are these speakers? We often see manufacturers of modern tech introduce lighter variations but fail to change enough of the design to where the color change looks good in its new colorway. I’m glad to state that JBL has gone about the new design correctly, and we even see more orange accents, along with subtle gray tones that look great paired with the snowy white
Here are some direct comparisons between the black and white models, showing what else JBL has changed when creating the new aesthetic.
JBL PartyBox Club 120
When comparing the PartyBox 120 in black and white, you’ll notice several changes to accent colors. Some subtle grays in the control panel and on the back of the speaker tie things together and make it look slightly more appealing than the black-on-black.
The translucency in the side panels also gives a slight glimpse into the sides of the shell and adds to the overall look of the speaker.
Although not too big of an issue, it’s worth noting that the white background LEDs of the controls make the text a little harder to read compared to the black version.
JBL PartyBox Stage 320
The PartyBox Stage 320 has most of the same changes that the Club 120, with translucent side panels and gray accents along the back and top of the speaker. Like with the 120, the buttons can be a little tougher to read due to less contrast, but otherwise, the clean white appearance looks great.
The bass radiator has a more vibrant look with the orange accents, and the built-in wheels are also orange on the white model, which adds some exciting contrast.
The telescopic handle also gets changes as the extension rods now have a gradient that runs from a grey to a vibrant metallic orange.
Unlocking New Aesthetics
The all-new white design gives the speaker a much softer appearance and when paired with the powerful dynamic lighting options each speaker has available, they create an entirely new aesthetic. Black speakers tend to look best when paired with strong primary colors – but these white variations bring a new dimension of color pairing, and look amazing when using softer Rose Pinks or Teal.
With many modern interior designs returning to softer appearances with white decor, these speakers won’t stand out and distract from your interior design, instead complimenting it with a clean, subtle look.
Consumers should consider that while white speakers can complement their home decor and turn their eyes, they will require more frequent cleaning and are more prone to displaying scratches and other surface damage more clearly than dark variations.
